About the GRCS.

The Gardeners Rest Community Society (GRCS) exists to run the Gardeners Rest public house. We aim to maintain its reputation as a great pub, but more than a pub, we want to develop the building into a space that can serve as a centre for community engagement and social enterprise.

We actively create opportunities for people that don't have the usual chances in life. Be that by employing someone with learning difficulties, or someone who's just not worked for a number of years. We take our charitable work very seriously and want to do well for the people that come into our care.

We also care about the community at large and want to maintain the great pub atmosphere, where lots of people know one another, where new customers are welcomed into the community and made to feel a part of it.

The pub, its regulars, the wider society and the people we employ, they're all very important to us and we hope you'll support us in the venture to make our pub a success!

How the Socety is Goverened.

The GRCS is managed by a steering group of five founding members. Regular meeting are held where the membership as a whole is represented.
